The current Lord Stanley of Alderley (Eighth) will be signing copies
of his new Autobiography at St Mary's Church, Nether Alderley,Che****re
on Thursday December 9th from 7pm. The Church is on the A34, opposite
the Old Mill. The Autobiography contains a newly updated genealogy.
The Stanleys once had a private pew in St Mary's (subject of a violent
dispute with the Fighting Fittons) and some are buried in the
Mausoleum in the churchyard. However, they no longer have any estates
in Alderley, these having passed to the National Trust and ICI.
