Hi Folks,
I have a new question: I am hoping to meet up with a close cousin whom I
haven't seen in about 50 yrs when I was around 8.
Her Mum recently passed and she em'd me to say she was going thru some
photos and can't identify lots of folks. So of course I am seriously
hoping
this is a treasure trove!
She will be visiting in Phx which is about 2 hrs away ... If I can get her
to bring the photos with her, I was thinking I'd drive down and bring my
scanner and a laptop to scan them.
Questions:
1) My scanner is about 4 yrs old, it's a flatbed Visioneer 8100. A while
back I saw a scanner at OfficeMax that did photos AND slides, it was
either
HP or Visioneer or some such and was on sale for about $130 - that price
range I can afford.
If I decide to get a new scanner, any suggestions of what would be good
quality scanners and/or what the parameters are that I need to look for
...
eg dpi etc
2) I've swapped digital photos with another cousin w/ labels like Grandma
and sister .... crikey after a bit it gets confusing!! Is there a good
way
to label and track photos w/ info such as name, ~date or age of person,
etc?????
