PAGE SUBJECT: The ascent of red heads in the Mediterranean and West
Europe. As primarily ****trayed by the Late Medieval-Early Renaissance
painter; but found with archeological evidence and spoken to by the
contem****ary Roman historian, Tacitus. There was, however, an African
presence in Europe during this era.
The Black Madonna was the first Madonna. This stands to reason as with
"Europeans-to-be" coming from the Steppes, there was no Christianity
there and with a "wooly-haired" Christ, was an African religion all
the way from North Africa through Rome and the entire Roman Empire
before Germanic Migrations. The way Madonna is often presented with
eyes averted and head down was a convention began with the Black
Madonna (not all, though) and followed by the European Madonna.
The Black Madonna ultimately arises from the African tribal mother,
the queen, in her role as protector of the tribe. This was how Isis,
following in the African tradition, appears. And the Madonna
immediately takes Isis as a model who, in turn, takes the African
tribal mother-queen, as the archetype. The arrival of the red head
