This couldn't be spring coil of Phoenix Lander on Mars

NASA repeatedly claimed a length of this spring coil (Fig. 1) fell off
from Phoenix Mars Lander. Note that the remaining spring coil in Fig.
1 does not taper at its end, while the =93fallen spring coil=94 in the
Martian soil (Fig. 2) does taper sharply  at its end, its diameters
reduced to 40%. It also gained cell remains in the process. How come?

I claimed that the =93fallen spring coil=94 was actually the remains of a
bronchi. Bronchis had cells and tapered naturally in animal lungs.
