The Historical Value of the Pound Sterling

by rdadams@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Dick Adams) Jun 25, 2008 at 02:40 PM

Since the amount of useable land in England has been
an historical constant. The economic stability of
a government can be evaluated by observing the value
of land under the gold standard. There are other
variables to be considered, e.g., inflation and
technology.

Does anyone know, or know where, I can find, the
value of acreage in Pound Sterling in England during
various years of the 19th century, i.e., the reigns
of George III, George IV, William IV, and Victoria?
