Indeed.   Those PT Boats were called "plywood coffins."  Mahogany
actually.  Destroyers could toy with them like a cat with a mouse.
Not for cowards.

All Bush has done is to declare victory for six years.  There is a
panoramic vista of his failures and mistakes for all to see, and all
he can say is that he was right and things will go his way
eventually.   How can he know?

Furthermore, EVEN if at some point in the future Iraq becomes a
reasonable place, IT WILL STILL BE A FAILURE.

Because COST is part of the outcome's success or lack of it.

We can make gasoline from coal, but it's too costly and a terrible
investment.  Iraq is in the same category.

The only choice with Iraq is that it will continue to be a disaster,
or become a Pyrrhic victory.

Not a great choice.

Not a Kennediesque legacy.
