For WWII, US nationalism was certainly one of the major causes.
It had a great deal to do with the unsatisfactory settlemeint
after WWI, and more than a little to do with Hitler thinking he
could get away with his expansionism in the late thirties.

There were a lot of causes, but that was one of them.
