Every year around the fourth of July I like to read a book on American
Revolutionary history. Some titles I've read the past few years and liked
are "Founding Fathers", "The Long Fuse", "What Kind of Nation."
Works aimed at academics rather than a popular audience are fine with me,
too. I'm interested in the battles to define policy and the new nation
more
than I am interested in actual battles. The era's culture is also
interesting to me.
Thanks for any recommendations,
Robert
