Winning hearts and minds won't matter much if Islamic extremists are not
defeated. In fact it will be worse.

An excellent argument for increasing the number of troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan especially now with positive re****ts about the surge in troops
in the provinces surrounding Baghdad and al Qaeda safe houses being
discovered, secured, or destroyed.

Geopolitical goals will not even be a consideration if Islamic extremists
are allowed to run wild and spread their destructive influence. By the
way, air sup****t has always been a key element to the ground troops and
with improved technology collateral damage has been minimized. Lets not
forget that those extremists hide in schools and hospitals since they
don't care about the lives of the young or the sick. Indeed they cowardly
hide
behind them knowing that the Air Force is much less likely to attack if
schools and hospitals are in the field of fire.
