Captain Smith? I have ALWAYS had an image in my mind of a weathered
and grizzled Capt. Smith played by Sean Connery.

Bride? Tom Welling He's the PERFECT young enthusiastic picture of the
Victorian period Wireless man.

***NOTE: Just curious here, Dan.  Obviously there are flashback
scenes...otherwise no Capt. Smith.  HOW could there be no need for
casting John (Jack) Phillips?  He, Bride, and Cottam are so centrally
intertwined in the events!

Cottam? Hugh Grant


Stone? ...still pondering...


Groves? ...ditto...


Sylvia Lightoller? Marg Helgenberger (Again, I WAS serious on this
one) while I might have liked Anne Archer for this, she DID play the
girlfriend/re****ter in Raise the Titanic, so I guess that counts her
out?


Sir Rufus Isaacs? John Hillerman.  Despite his natural Texas drawl,
his demeanor and accent for all those years as "Higgins" opposite
Selleck were flawless.


Butler Aspinall? Tom Selleck (I would have loved to see David McCallum
on this, but playing wireless in ANTR rules him out.  What a pity!


Lord Mersey? Patrick Stewart ("Make it so!")

Thomas Andrews? Such a shame.  I should have LOVED the late
Christopher Reeve in this role.  Unsure on this one, although with the
proper accent, I DO still think david james Elliott IS the picture of
the confident designer/engineer.
