Yes indeed. One question that comes to mind is was she double hulled?
And if not, why not, if she was operating in icy waters and she was done
in by a hole the size of a fist. Another thought that comes to mind is
what sort of sonar (if any) might she have had for detecting underwater
ice belts? I presume none. Good that no lives were lost, but a tragic
end for the Explorer. The yahoo sideshow was excellent, and quite
informative. I could just about feel the cold!
