I was checking my TV schedule this morning (Jan 30) and found out that a
National Geographic Channel special called "Carpathia in Titanic's
Shadow" was about to be shown, so I set up my VCR and recorded this. A
crew from National Geographic went out several years ago and after much
searching found the Carpathia southwest of Ireland in 500 feet of water.
The ****p was torpedoed about 1918. It was dark and murky at the
wrecksite, but you could see the ****p. Hopefully there will be more
expeditions to explore this wreck further. Earlier, while searching for
the Carpathia, the crew found the sunken Hamburg American liner, Isis,
which sank in 1936 during a storm. I don't know if this program will be
shown again, but they usually show these shows over several times.
There was also another hour program on the Lusitania, and then another
on Titanic. I haven't watched these yet.
