Re: Titanic Rear Expansion joint -

Hi PJF,

I'm hoping someone else will chime in as regards the do***entary, as
there were many angles covered and it would take a considerable time
to even summarise all the issues. As regards Titanic breaking in two,
the computer simulation came to the conclusion that Titanic was
adequately strong - designed to take the worst that the Atlantic could
throw at her with a margin to spare.

However, if you are interested in the topic of expansion joints
generally, then you may find my article of interest:

There are a lot of misconceptions about expansion joints. In many
ways, the connection between the aft expansion joint and the ****p's
hull failing rests on a popular misunderstanding.

Best wishes,

Mark.
