Construction of Titanic class ****ps

by "peter" <n@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 11, 2008 at 11:38 AM

Hello,

I have been reading this NG during the period I saw the movie, but have
been
away from the group for 8 years.

Looking back at the postings and discussions, I begin to wonder how at
such
places like Belfast, people were able to construct such large ****ps with
the
tools they had available back then. Nowadays plans can be designed from
large computers, but how would every cabin and hallway have been drawn on
plans, when the entire ****p is so full of detailed installations. For
example, How did they manage to incor****ate the quadruple expansion
machines, when the rest of the ****p was built around and over them.?

The ****p had been designed in a year I read. They had no calculators, so I
really admire the ****pbuilding skills people had back then.

I know many things are described in books and the internet, but I hope
some
people would like to reply to this message.

MTIA,

peter vc
