She was certainly appreciated by the ocean liner buffs amongst us, I don't
think the general public realize that these ****ps are unique,
one-of-a-kind
builds (unlike other, mass-produced forms of trans****t--planes, trains &
automobiles) that, when they're gone, they're gone forever.

It's not just them, it's the ****pping companies themselves as well. They
don't seem to have much sense of either sentiment or history, had the city
of Long Beach not bought the QM, she'd almost certainly have been scrapped
at the end of the 60's.
