Churchill couldn't have done any deal with Hitler other than
negotiating an armistice since the UK was already at war with Germany
when Churchill became Prime Minister.

If the UK had not declared war on Germany in 1939 then it is likely
that Hitler would have defeated the Soviet Union. The world would then
have had to live with a Nazi superpower which controlled all the
resources of what was Russia: oil, minerals and argriculture. The Nazi
Grossdeutsches Reich would have been militarily invincible and the
world would have been a much, much worse place.

We should be thankful that Churchill was stubborn and fought the Nazis
to the end.
