Yes, he always did intend to do that.  The pact gave him time to build up 
his tank regiments.
Hitler wanted to destroy Communism...he said so.   So did Churchill at one

time until he went broke and was helped financially by Bernard Baruch. 
It's an intrigue story that will get the light of day eventually.
