The U.S.A. fears a capitalist China more than a Communist China because a
capitalist China poses a serious economic challenge to America.
Ultimately,
the U.S. fears that Chinese ex****ts will destroy the U.S. ex****t trade in
manufactured goods, and if China was to ever have a per capita ( i.e. per
head ) G.N.P. as large as that of Japan's, multiplied by China's far
larger
population, the U.S. economy would cease to be a superpower. The U.S.
already has a large trade deficit with Japan, and if China was to ever
become as economically rich per capita G.N.P. as Japan is, the U.S. trade
deficit with China would in all likelihood be very large indeed.
Today the U.S.A. has some 8,000 nuclear armed missiles, and Russia has
about
10,000 nuclear armed missiles, compared to China's 450 nuclear armed
missiles. The Chinese should wait until they have as many nuclear armed
missiles as the Americans and Russians combined before they attack Taiwan
or
the Spratly Islands. The U.S.A. would love it if China was to attack the
Chinese-speaking island of Taiwan, or the oil-rich Spratly Islands in the
South China Sea, because this would give the U.S.A. an excuse to
annihilate
the emerging Chinese economic superpower which in the long-term poses a
serious challenge to the American economy. The owner****p of the oil-rich
Spratly Islands of the South China Sea is disputed among the nations of
China, Vietnam, The Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The
U.S.A.
might one day lull the Chinese into a false sense of security in order to
tempt the Chinese into attacking Taiwan and the Spratly Islands, by
claiming
to adopt a non-interventionist policy, only to reverse their public policy
by declaring war on China after a Chinese invasion of Taiwan or the
Spratly
Islands had already begun. The U.S.A. did something similar in 1990 when
Iraq invaded Kuwait, although the U.S. before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait
failed to warn the Iraqis of the consequences that would arise if they
invaded Kuwait.
The U.S.A. currently has air force, naval, marine corps, and army bases in
South Korea, Japan, the Japanese-owned island of Okinawa, the island of
Tinian in the U.S. commonwealth territory of the Northern Mariana Islands
[ also spelled the Northern Marianas Islands ], the U.S. island territory
of
Guam, and a ballistic, guided missile testing facility in Kwajalein Atoll,
a
part of the Marshall Islands. The Marshall Islands form a part of the U.S.
Free Association group of the Micronesian Islands, which also includes The
Federated States of Micronesia and Palau. These U.S. Free Association
Micronesian Islands have their foreign policy and external defense
controlled by the U.S. government.
Taiwan is as much a part of China as Hainan Island in the Gulf of Tonkin
is.
The Gulf of Tonkin also washes the shores of what was North Vietnam. It
seems that the Americans have not learnt from their disastrous involvement
in the Vietnam War of 1957-1975. The Americans would probably use both
tactical and strategic nuclear weapons in a war against China if the
U.S.A.
decided to defend Taiwan against a Chinese attack, in order to avoid a
protracted war with China, as the U.S.A. had become involved in a
protracted
ground war in Vietnam during The Vietnam War of 1957-1975. All the
American
carpet bombing, napalm, daisy-cutters or fuel-air bombs, flamethrowers,
and
agent orange in the world could not win the Vietnam War for the Americans.
Most of the people of Taiwan are the descendants of settlers and/or
invaders
from southern China, and speak southern Chinese dialects. The original
inhabitants of Taiwan are the Malay-speaking Yami people. Then again, the
only true Americans are the American Indians. Taiwan was politically a
part
of mainland China before the Chinese-Japanese War of 1894-1895, and was so
again from 1945-1949. During the height of the last Ice Age, land bridges
used to connect the islands of Hainan and Taiwan to the Chinese mainland,
and a land bridge used to connect Russian Siberia with Alaska. The Slavic
Russians conquered the originally Asiatic Siberians from the late 1500's
onwards. After the Ice Age gradually melted away, these land bridges
became
flooded.
If the American voters are capable of electing a President who attacks a
country like Iraq in 2003 because of non-existent weapons of mass
destruction, then American voters are capable of anything if desperate
enough. If tariffs failed to protect the Americans from a gigantic trade
deficit with China, then the Americans might indeed try to wipe out the
Chinese with strategic and tactical nuclear weapons.
