One of the interesting things I learned about the German Peasants' War
by reading Blickle's book was the way the "peasants", finding no way to
sup****t their grievances on the basis of current law and custom, developed
a new political ideology based on the Gospels to sup****t the reforms they
demanded. What I'd like to find is an account of conflicts throughout
history that resulted in the development of new political ideologies
based on religious principles, no matter what religion might have been
involved. Can someone suggest some readings on this?
