I'm reading Priscilla Roberts' book, "Revolutions of 1848. A social
history".
After the King ordered the soldiers to withdraw, leaving the palace
exposed,
"Berliners decided to have a parade of their fallen heroes". The bodies
were
collected and then the people demanded that the King come out and see the
dead. "... the King appeared, and the Queen too, clinging to his arm. As
the corpses were brought closer the King was forced to take off his hat,
while the Queen fainted."
So far so good. My question is about the next line (p.122): "The crowd
burst
into a dignified chorale...". What chorale did the crowd sing?
