It is the year of the potato so I decided to write a POD on the
potato.
Sometime about 100 CE, the Romans send a large merchant ****p on
a voyage of discovery from England to the Americas. Soon it
sails sail down the American coast. Among their discoveries is
the potato. They like it and bring it back to Rome. Slowly it
is adopted by the Romans and spreads throughout the empire.
Now the Romans have an abundant, nutritious food which unlike
any other major crop, contains most of the vitamins needed for
sustenance. More im****tantly, as the potatoes are much more
efficient in providing sustenance to people by early 500 CE,
the Roman Empire's population is much bigger then the OTL.
What happens now?
