Well, it changes the history of _Christianity_ in a pretty big way. There
are now far more Christians in England and Scotland than in the rest of
the
world put together. Do the ones in the RE start migrating to England?
The Romans may try to invade, but my guess is they fail. English ****ps of
1600 are way superior to anything Rome's got, not to mention cannon etc,
so
any invading force probably winds up at the bottom of the Channel. Of
course, in time the Romans will probably learn how to make the new ****ps,
and even gunpowder, but hopefully it will be quite a long time.
As for England, it's a matter of taking up where she left off - though
with
one eye always cocked on that gorilla across the Strait of Dover. The New
World is still where it was, only now there aren't any Spaniards there.
"Virginia" can extend right down to Tierra Del Fuego.
The English succession isn't immediately changed, assuming that Scotland
has
been ISOTed with her. It's still James I, and even probably still Charles
I,
though butterflies could make it Henry IX or Elizabeth I instead. The
third
generation will certainly change, though, as there'll be no Henrietta
Maria
for Charles to marry. Who knows, he might even get to die of old age.
One question. With all the Americas at our feet, do we bother reoccupying
Ireland, or just send missionaries there? If the latter, we probably send
some to Germany and Scandinavia as well. This could make Christianity
primarily a religion of the "Barbarian" world, with Rome the last place to
adopt it, rather than the first.
Interesting stuff. Jacobean Britain is now a kind of Super-Nantucket.

Q) In the Roman Civil Wars, why did all the bachelors fight for Sulla?
A) Because they weren't the Marian kind.
