Yes, Sanjurjo and Mola died in plane crashes,
leaving Franco in charge.

But it is absolutely certain that Franco had
nothing to do with Sanjurjo's death. If the
crash was anyone's fault it was Sanjurjo
himself, for choosing to fly in in Ansaldo's
two-seater instead of the 7 passenger Dragon
Rapide, and for insisting on bringing a heavy
trunk full of dress uniforms.

I don't know any of the details of Mola's
fatal crash, but I've never heard there
was any evidence it was other than an
accident.
