When you write "The fact that others had
deadly accidents ... is again an indication of
his cleverness and cautiousness..."

it certainly looks like an insinuation that
these were not really "accidents" and that
Franco was responsible.

The fact that others had deadly accidents
indicates nothing what ever about Franco.
Except perhaps that he was more cautious
about air travel.

It would be much better to say "When others
had deadly accidents, he was the one who
ended up in first place."
