I suspect there is a code rule in journalism concerning who a editor
can bring into a story done on
another person. As in the case of the Story done on Archimedes
Plutonium on 29 June 2008 by
Nestor Ramos of the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls South Dakota. My
concern is the injection of
Jesse Hughes, some philosopher on the East Coast and why should he
take up ample space
with negative comments in a story of Archimedes Plutonium.
I believe the correct and proper code of conduct rule by a re****ter
was to tell me that the story
would have comments by Jesse Hughes. And upon hearing that, I could
have said "do not
write the story and goodbye". However, what did happen was that Mr.
Ramos said nothing
to the fact that he was going to include some outside commentor.
So, please correct me if wrong, but I believe there is some code of
conduct by journalists
or news re****ters doing stories on scientists. That the journalist has
a duty to inform all the
scientists of the story, as to who will have "words of thought or
comments" included in the
story. And with that information, any of those scientists could say
"stop there, for I want
nothing to do with this story"
If Mr. Ramos had told me he was going to include comments by Jesse
Hughes, I would
have said, go ahead with the story, but include this statement: "That
Mr. Hughes is a
sour and bitter philosopher, judging from his Usenet posts and is
unqualified to comment
on the Atom Totality theory since it is physics, not philosophy"
